[REVIEW/SWATCHES] INGLOT Eyeshadows

[It's currently 12:49 AM (EST) as I am typing this but I am back!]

So in August, I actually visited New York City with my close friends for my 19th birthday, and on my places to shop/visit was INGLOT! Sadly, I was only able to go the INGLOT inside Macy's Herald Square (I know sucky) but I we were on a tight schedule so that was my option. Funny thing was that I only purchased one shadow in person and it was 47 AMC SHINE. The rest I had ordered online when I found out INGLOT was having a 20% off sale on their pan shadows so I made up my haul online haha!

So enough of my babbling and onto my review!

[REVIEW] L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows

Hi guys, sorry for not updating for so long! I was sick and midterms came and attacked me T.T BUT! That is all over now, and I am back with a review on the famous L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadows, I’m sure a lot of you guys have already seen swatches and read reviews about these eyeshadows, but I still want to give my two cents about these.

I bought these at Rite Aid during a buy one get half off sale, so for three of these the total was about $22 with tax. These originally cost 7.95, probably cheaper at Target and Walmart. The Infallible eyeshadows can be described as a pressed pigment because there is a cap inside the packaging to press the pigment and keep it fresh. These are also known to be dupes for the Giorgi Armani Eyes to Kill, but I don’t have that so I can’t compare ^^;

My first impression of these were wow, they are so pretty and sparkly HAHA. But when I tried them out, I thought these were over-hyped. These were pigmented when I swatched them with my fingers but when I used a brush, I had hardly any pigmentation. Then I started searching to see what other gurus used to apply these and a lot of them used eyeshadow brushes. In the end, I used a sponge tip applicator and I felt like those worked the best for me with these eyeshadows. After finding the right application, I liked the eyeshadows but I didn’t love them as much as I thought I would. I still need to use my trusty Urban Decay Primer Potion under these eyeshadows because nothing will survive on my oily eyelids.

Out of the three I purchased, I’ve used Amber Rush the most as a brightening color on my inner tear duct. I have replaced my trusty sparkly white eyeliner from Sephora with this baby and it does the same thing, except this is less harsh. It looks a lot more natural and it definitely stays on my eye for a school day (8-10 hours). I have used Eternal Black to smudge out my eyeliner for a smokey-ish look and it lasted about 6-8 hours before I started getting raccoon eyes.

Now onto the pictures! ^^

When these are displayed, they display the bottom where it shows the color while the cap is faced away.

Swatches:

The primer I used was the Urban Decay Primer Potion and as you can tell, there is hardly any difference if you use a primer or not. Midnight Blue and Eternal Black are a did bit darker with UDPP but it's a subtle difference.

There are 2 matte shades in the US Release for these (I'm not sure which colors they are ^^;) but for the rest of the collection they are indeed sparkly or metallic shades.

Overall, would I repurchase these? Probably Amber Rush but not Eternal Black because I have a lot of other black eyeshadows that could do the same thing. I still want to try out the other colors so I would give the L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows a 4/5.

Happy Lunar New Year + Mini Haul

Happy Lunar New Year! I hope everyone is able to spend some quality time with their families this week My family didn't really do anything special today, but my dad make some special soup to ring in the new year! My cousin also came over to send his blessings and brought his son over. Gosh, he's about 1.5 years old now and wow this kid can run! I was playing with him and anything that caught his attention he immediately went after it. But he was such a cutie When he was leaving he was blowing kisses at everyone!

Isn't he adorable? LOL

While running last minute errands today with my dad, I asked him if we could stop by CVS because I wanted to check out the Milani 75% off clearance sale that G had talked about on her blog. If you don't know who G is, she runs the blog called “Nouveau Cheap” and constantly updates when there is a massive drugstore clearance going on! I love her blog so much So I did a mini haul at CVS today

The total was about $6, which is almost the same price if you are buying ONE of the Milani blushes at original price! O: So this was a total steal! I bought one nail polish, 2 blushes and a bronzer. I would have bought more but my dad was waiting outside in the car and we had other errands to run so I just quickly chose these items. So far, I only opened the bronzer and I noticed that there is a little bit of shimmer

If you enlarge the picture, you'll see tiny gold shimmers in it

I'm hoping that the shimmer is only on the top layer and will go away with continuous usage~

I will be testing these products as the days go along so a review+swatches will be coming soon!

P.S. If you are planning to go to your local CVS to check out the Milani clearance, I suggest you take a look at the list of products on sale that G has compiled on her blog (Click here!)and take the item up to the CVS price scanner! Some CVS's did not put a sticker on the product saying that they are on clearance (like mines) so it never hurts to scan it at the price scanner

[REVIEW] Revlon Lip Butter + Swatches!

Today I'm reviewing the famous Revlon Lip Butters that have taken over the blogosphere

I actually got these right when they came out so I tested these for awhile now. The two colors I got were Cherry Tart and Tutti Frutti.

(Left-Right: Cherry Tart, Tutti Frutti)

As seen above, Cherry Tart is a red lip butter while Tutti Frutti is a coral orange one. When I first saw the display for these I was automatically drawn to Tutti Frutti because I have an obsession with Coral- Orange lipsticks!

(Left-Right: Cherry Tart, Tutti Frutti)

Tutti Frutti is a color more suited for Spring/Summer while Cherry Tart is more suited for the Fall/Winter. That's why it looks like Cherry Tart has been used more often than Tutti Frutti~ Cherry Tart is a very wearable everyday red. It looks like it would suit all skin tones and it's definitely a good choice if you're scared to wear the bold red lip look (like me! Haha). The pigmentation between Cherry Tart and Tutti Frutti has a subtle difference. Cherry Tart is a tad bit more pigmented than Tutti Fruitti because Cherry Tart is darker than Tutti Frutti. What I like about Cherry Tart is that even after the color fades, it leaves a tint on my lips like a lip tint! ^^

Also! You can't tell from the swatches or the pictures above, but Cherry Tart has shimmer in it, but once it is on the lips you can't tell at all.

I did have a small problem with them being moisturizing. Since it's a lip butter, I thought it would be good just to have this on and my lip would be fine but I was wrong. I still needed my lip balm under and I also had to exfoliate my lips before wearing these because they settle into the dry patches on my lips (but then what kind of lip product wouldn't? ^^) So, would I repurchase this? I probably would if they were on sale but I wouldn't call these my HG lip items.

Now onto the swatches!

Hello Everyone!

Hello everyone! This is my second blogging attempt here on blogger
My first blog was “bijinling.blogspot.com” (now deactivated). The reasons why I deactivated that blog was because I wanted a fresh start, hence here I am ^^ I have made it my new years resolution to restart blogging again on blogger so, I will not leave anyone hanging on updates (unless for personal reasons which I will state).

A little about my blog:
This will blog will mostly be beauty/skin care reviews (maybe some ootd the posts). I have accumulated a lot of products as the years went by and I thought it would be fun to review them and give my 2 cents on these products . In no way am I a professional (just a mere college student ^^; ) and everyones skin reacts differently to different products. So keep in mind what might work for me, might not work for you.

Now that this introduction post is done, a review will be coming shortly!
